Cleaning and Prevention

Dentistry is founded on the principle of prevention. It is essential for all patients to schedule biannual cleanings and examinations. These visits not only help to address potential dental issues before they arise, but they also contribute to healthier gums and cleaner, whiter teeth.

During a professional cleaning, hard plaque that cannot be eliminated through regular brushing and flossing is removed. This process includes a polish, which help protect and soothe both teeth and gums.

Even if it has been over two years since your last cleaning, it is never too late to prioritize your dental health. Taking this step can lead to significant improvements in your oral hygiene and overall well-being.

What are some preventative measures I can take?

  • Brush with a toothpaste containing hydroxyapatite, spit out toothpaste but do not rinse it out

  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush 30 minutes after each meal

  • Floss daily before bedtime

  • Floss toothpaste between teeth

  • Avoid sugary foods, coffee, and tobacco
